چکیده
Desalination and wastewater treatment technologies require an effective solution for brine management to ensure environmental sustainability, which is closely linked with efficient process operations, reduction of chemical dosages, valorization brines. Within the scope desalination reclamation, a circular system consisting seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO), membrane distillation (MD), forward (FO) three-process hybrid investigated. The proposed design increases water recovery from SWRO (by MD) dilutes concentrated level FO) feed. It ultimately reduces disposal improves crystallization efficiency zero-liquid discharge application. operating range indicated by volumetric concentration factor (VCF) ranging 1.0 2.2, covers practical sustainable operation in full-scale applications. VCF range, different conditions MD FO processes were evaluated series as well real plant. Water quality surface analyzed before after experiments assess impact brine. Despite their low (0.13 mg/L phosphorous), antiscalants present alleviated flux decline operations 68.3% compared using concentrate, while no significant influence was observed on process. A full spectrum analysis Red Sea made available future reclamation studies. experimental results have shown potential SWRO-MD-FO reclamation. • flexible developed recycling. Real plant treated. Feasibility experimentally operations. Operation 2.2 Flux mitigated through retardation CaCO 3 crystallization.

Forward Osmosis Brine Drying
The Forward Osmosis Brine Drying (FOBD) system is based on a technique called forward osmosis (FO). FO is a membrane-based process where the osmotic potential between brine and a salt solution is equalized by the movement of water from the brine to the salt solution. The FOBD system is composed of two main elements, the FO bag and the salt regeneration system. This paper discusses the results o...
متن کاملScaling control during membrane distillation of coal seam gas reverse osmosis brine
We systematically assess the efficiency of chemical cleaning and report a simple but elegant approach to control scaling during membrane distillation (MD) of brine from reverse osmosis (RO) treatment of coal seam gas (CSG) produced water. Results reported here show that increased feed water salinity and the permeation of CO2 from the feed solution resulted in only a small and gradual decrease i...
متن کاملForward Osmosis as a Pre-treatment to Reverse Osmosis
This paper presents some aspects of forward osmosis coupled with reverse osmosis using a recirculating draw solution, to produce desalinated water or for dewatering/concentrating a feed stream, with some data provided from a number of operational sites. Many of these aspects are applicable to other osmotic processes and provide an insight into where they may be appropriately considered. A compa...
متن کاملEnvironmental concerns of desalinating seawater using reverse osmosis.
This Critical Review on environmental concerns of desalination plants suggests that planning and monitoring stages are critical aspects of successful management and operation of plants. The site for the desalination plants should be selected carefully and should be away from residential areas particularly for forward planning for possible future expansions. The concerning issues identified are ...
متن کاملEfficiently Combining Water Reuse and Desalination through Forward Osmosis—Reverse Osmosis (FO-RO) Hybrids: A Critical Review
Forward osmosis (FO) is a promising membrane technology to combine seawater desalination and water reuse. More specifically, in a FO-reverse osmosis (RO) hybrid process, high quality water recovered from the wastewater stream is used to dilute seawater before RO treatment. As such, lower desalination energy needs and/or water augmentation can be obtained while delivering safe water for direct p...
